Frequently Asked Questions

Zachary's Pizza strives to offer the best pizza possible at a reasonable price. At times, our business is overwhelmed with loyal customers. With that in mind, we have procedures in place to accommodate as many customers as possible without sacrificing the quality of our pizza!

Frequently Asked Questions at Zachary's Pizza:

Do you deliver?
In order to provide the highest quality pizza and service, we offer take out and dine in only.

Do you take reservations?

Our dining room seating is on a first come, first served basis. If the restaurant is full, you will be able to order your pizzas once you have received an estimated wait time for your table. This way your pizzas will be ready close to the time you are seated! You must be in the restaurant to put your name on the seating list. To be fair to all customers waiting for tables, we are unable to seat incomplete parties unless the pizzas can be ordered for the entire party.

NOTE: At Zachary’s San Ramon, we accept reservations 7 days a week 11am-4pm. For lunches, we encourage you to order your pizzas on the phone in advance; your pizzas will be ready close to your arrival. We do not accept reservations at Zachary’s Oakland or Berkeley.

Can I place an order over the phone and then come to dine in the restaurant?

If the dining room is not full, we can take dine-in orders over the phone before 4 pm only. We cannot guarantee a table for you (however we do accept reservation requests in San Ramon 7 days a week 11-4). For phone orders after 4 pm, we are only able to accept take-out requests.

Can I save a table until the rest of my party arrives?
Zachary's does not seat incomplete parties. The problem with this is that many times the rest of the party arrives very late or not at all, and the table that is being "saved" could have been used by other folks waiting to be seated.

Can I call ahead to put my name on the seating list or to find out how long a wait for a table is?

If the restaurant if full, we ask that customers are in the restaurant to put their name on the list for a table. This is our way of being fair to all dining customers. The estimated wait times for tables fluctuate from day to day, and depend on many variables. We work hard to give accurate wait times. The seating host is the only person who has information about the seating list, and that employee is rarely near our phones. Please remember, if we are full, we will encourage you to order your pizzas while you wait!

Will you franchise or open a restaurant in my area soon?

In September 2007, for the first time in over 20 years, we proudly opened our San Ramon location. We are an employee-owned company and all of our focus and attention goes toward maintaining the quality of our pizzas, our service, and our work environment. At this point, we are not interested in future expansion and/or franchising, but keep in mind we’ll never say never, so please feel free to check our website again for possible updates. Thank you so much for your interest!

Can I order a partially cooked pizza to finish at home?

We offer “half-baked” pizzas that can be ordered from any pizza option on our menu. Just call us on the phone! We also stock a few limited options everyday at all 3 Zachary’s. You can finish cooking the pizzas at your convenience. See instructions for "half-baked" pizzas.

Do you ship your pizzas for mail order customers?

To insure the best possible quality, we do not ship our pizzas. We have experienced problems trying to do so in the past. In moderate weather, many customers do travel a few hours by car with half-baked pizzas.
